5 Fashion Resolutions For 2015
With every new year, almost everybody has got a set of goals they strive to work on. Some we do accomplish, and others we fail at. Yet, it is always admirable to crave and strive for improvement, or change, whatever form it may take.
So, here are my very own fashion resolutions for the year 2015:
1. Go For Blue
Recently I would sweep past the racks of mustards and greens, or click straight on the black option. Black has always been my favourite colour. However, much to my delight, 2015 is the Year of Blue. From Jonathan Saunders to Clare Waight Keller at Chloé, designers embraced it -gorgeously. There’s a blue hue to suit all of us. And, very generously, I don’t mind sharing.
2. Wear Flat Ankle Boots
I’m no fan of the androgynous style. Other than Converse shoes and perfumes, you won’t see me donning anything labelled ‘unisex.’
To me, a woman should look like a woman. Period. Sorry, Dr. Martin-boots-lovers. This means No chains, skulls, studs, or any form of chunky heels on your feet. But 3 simple side-buckles are okay, as I fell in love with this gorgeous pair I found at Massimo Dutti. It is simple yet so stylish, and I’ll be incorporating it into a lot of my winter outfits.
3. Step Into Hot Summer Suedes
I always say this: apart from lace, leather is my best friend. I flaunt a lot of it during winter but haven’t yet done so during summer, so I’ve decided to go for this suede shorts without any hesitation.
4. Don’t Be Defined By Heel Height
I’ve been experimenting with different styles throughout my teens & twenties; from grungy with lots of denims and Converse, to classy with vintage accessories, dresses and Louboutins. Going into extremes not only enriched my closet, but also some aspects of my personality. One thing I have to say at this point in my life for you:
Those women who like to say “I only wear flats,” or “I simply have to wear five-inch heels even when I’m running marathon”? They need to mature a little.
5. Channel Some 80’s
& I’m super excited to be collaborating with Beirut’s finest on this. I can’t wait reveal everything soon :)
Whatever feels right. Never settle for anything mediocre. Happy 2015.
