DIY Body Scrub With Lemon
Real talk: You can’t cook until your life depends on it.
Coming up with skin care recipes is another story though. Think foolproof face masks and detoxifying body wraps (coming up in our next posts), with simple instructions, basic tools, and as few as two ingredients, our recipes are hard to mess up.
Below, I’m sharing my vitamin C-packed poppy seed scrub with lemon. This super easy DIY body scrub exfoliates, stimulates collagen production, lightens dark spots, strengthens skin, and looks good enough to eat. (But I won’t recommend that.)
Lemon Poppy Seed Scrub
Makes about 200 grams, enough to use a couple of times depending on the quantity you need.
– 2 tbsp. poppy seeds
– ½ c. granulated sugar
– Dash of ground cardamom
– Zest of ½ lemon
– ¼ c. grape-seed oil (Argan, or even baby oil can also work)
– 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- Place poppy seeds, sugar, cardamom, and lemon zest in a medium-size mixing bowl
- Add the oil and mix together with a fork until you have a uniform consistency
- Add the lemon juice and stir well to blend
Use instead of soap or body wash during a shower. Using circular motions, massage the scrub into legs and arms, making your way up to the torso, and ending at your heart. Rinse well.
To preserve freshness, keep your DIY body scrub away from water. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator and use within a week.
