A Hubble Humble, Playful Catalina
Every now and then, photons leave a mark on my camera sensor that give me goosebumps, nothing short of a feeling of pure ecstasy.
Catalina is in the photo above as a playful green fuzz with an ion and a dust tail. Venus shines bright at the center of the image, a goddess worshipped throughout the ages for its glorious morning glow.
The guest across the image, a glowing oblique strike, is super special. It’s the Hubble Space Telescope, our eye in the sky for the past quarter decade – what has inspired me, along with so many other astrophotographers around the world, to look up and dream.
We’re always used to Hubble’s perspective, shooting deep sky objects that define our view of the universe, but this is a bit different and possibly globally unique, our view of Hubble from down under.
Much love Hubble, from Kfardebian, Lebanon.
