My Story With Esquivel | Made-to-Measure Luxury Leather Shoes
Unbeknownst to me when I first came across George Esquivel on Luxe TV in 2013, the California-based shoe designer and maker was in business since the mid 90s. Esquivel Designs focused on custom and made to measure luxury leather shoes which were originally inspired by music and cars.
Esquivel designed shoes for Petersen Automotive Museum in 2002 and was a Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund nominee and finalist. Esquivel has also collaborated and contracted to redesign the American collection for Italian shoe company Fratelli Rossetti.
The Battalion displayed was originally featured in brown waxed leather on http://esquivelshoes.com. It’s all about that zipper on the tongue, hiding the laces that extend on to the sides of the boot, which made of it such a unique piece.
It was possible to request modifications by mail and phone to the original version and get it delivered to Dubai, UAE. The original design had a short vamp covered by the zippered toe, and I asked for a greater vamp spread. I have also requested for the outsole to be made wider for it to add character to the shoe structure, the welt was made in vintage wood. Upon requesting the Battalion or any other Esquivel boot, you will be able to request a longer or shorter throat, depending on your preference.
Esquivel will also deliver fit shoes anywhere in the world.
